Mel Joseph G. Castro

Mel Joseph holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Carlos and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Philippines, where he graduated Cum Laude.

He represented the University of San Carlos at the international rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. in both 2025 and 2026. The Carolinian team received the Alona Evans Award for the best team memorials in 2025 and reached the quarterfinals in 2026.

He interned at the Office of the Solicitor General. He has also mooted in the Price Media Law and Nelson Mandela World Human Rights competitions. At the University of the Philippines he was Editor in Chief of Tug-ani, the student publication, and at San Carlos he served on the editorial staff of Virtus, the law journal.
